about us

Mills Industries is a small fourth generation, family-owned and operated packaging company that began in Manchester NH, in 1947.  After our move to Laconia NH in 1985, 2nd generation president Bert Mills, started the transition from paper to corrugated plastic, under which the company thrived.  Our creative and inventive style to manufacturing boxes gained us the distinguished reputation as "The Innovators of Packaging". â€‹â€‹

As the new millennium unfolded, the market evolved into a more complex and competitive landscape. In response, Michael Mills, a third-generation leader and our current president, took the helm, ushering in a new era and mission for Mills Industries.

During his tenure as vice president in the 1990s, Michael initiated our commitment to environmental responsibility by introducing the "Recycle-Mobile"—an innovative, large-scale recycling bin designed for major events. This groundbreaking initiative laid the foundation for our sustainability-driven approach and set us on the path we follow today.

Recognizing the growing urgency of environmental issues, Mills Industries embraced renewable energy solutions. In 2009, we transitioned to operating entirely on wind power, reinforcing our dedication to sustainable practices. Two years later, in 2011, we conducted a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate our products' full environmental impact—from raw material sourcing to end-of-life disposal. This study, which met all ISO 14000 standards, provided valuable insights into factors contributing to pollution and climate change.

At Mills Industries, sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s our guiding principle. We continue to innovate and lead with environmentally conscious solutions, shaping a future where business and responsibility go hand in hand.

This May, we proudly celebrate an incredible milestone—Robert "Bobby" Lampron’s 59th year as a valued member of the Mills Industries family! Bobby's journey with us began in 1966, when, at just 16 years old, he joined the company in Manchester, NH, back when we were making paper shoe boxes. Over the years, he has been a witness to—and a key part of—our company’s evolution. When Mills Industries relocated to Laconia, NH, in 1985, Bobby made the move as well, continuing his dedication and hard work in our new home. With nearly six decades of experience, Bobby embodies the loyalty, craftsmanship, and spirit that define Mills Industries. His commitment and contributions have left a lasting impact, and we are honored to celebrate this incredible achievement with him.

Congratulations, Bobby, on 59 years of dedication—we are grateful for all that you do! 🎉
